Behind AGCO’s best-known agricultural brands – Fendt, Valtra, Massey Ferguson and Challenger – sits one engine maker: AGCO Power, formerly known as SISU Diesel. Founded in Finland in 1942, the company built engines under the Valmet name until 1997 and the Sisu name until 2004, when it became part of the AGCO group. Its engines, built near Nokia in Finland, power tractors and combines across the whole AGCO range.
Many of these engines – the well-known 7.4-litre and 8.4-litre SISU units among them – use Bosch common rail fuel systems, which means the injectors, high-pressure pumps and related components are genuine Bosch parts, traceable by their Bosch and OEM numbers. (Note that some larger Fendt tractors, such as parts of the 800 and 900 series, run Deutz engines instead – also with Bosch fuel systems – so the same catalogue covers them too.)
